I recognize your time, energy, and focus is limited. Therefore, I optimize our time together. Our sessions are time specific and goal focused. I do not work with clients for a long amount of time. If you prefer to do the hard work of practicing what is taught, problem solving to discover solutions and ultimately achieve your goals, then set up a free 30 minute phone call here and let’s begin.

Typically, individual counseling can be between 6-15 sessions in length and family or couples counseling can be between 10-20 sessions. However, I do work longer with clients if needed. Counseling sessions start off by exploring the nature of behaviors, thoughts, and feelings. This is what I refer to as “the why”. However, once the why is discovered, then the focus can shift to teaching of skills.

I am licensed both in Minnesota and South Dakota, so am able to provide therapy services to clients in those states.

Every week. This is for your benefit. I know from experience working with lots of individuals and families that you need to come frequently and consistently to see results. This is supported by research. Those who get their therapy intensely in the beginning get better results and get better faster than those who do the same number of hours of therapy spread out over months and months. You are worth the investment!

Yes, especially in the beginning. I will suggest things for you do to at home that supports the work we do in our sessions. I have found that clients make significantly faster progress when they do the homework. Much of the homework is to support the integration of the deep work we do in session.

I have a 48 hour cancellation policy, so if you need to cancel, make sure you give me 48 hours notice to avoid paying the late cancellation fee, which is $50 for the first session and the full session rate for any after that. If I am able, I will try to reschedule our session for a different day and time.
