Becoming more self aware sounds interesting, but the actual process of diving deep and figuring out how to overcome past hurt and fears seems rather unenjoyable. So you avoid it.

Taking care of yourself is important to you, but you may not know how to get your needs met or even how to make time and space for it. Your body needs calm to get out of the cycle of surviving day to day. But, maybe you don't have calming strategies that actually work for you. So you live in stress and survival mode.

Often I hear clients say "ahh I just feel so out of control". What is going on? Either a feeling or fear is in the driver seat and has control. But this does not have to be the case. I love CBT therapy for a reason. It says that thoughts, feelings and behaviors are all interconnected. So if you change one, you change the other two.
