ADHD Assessments

Looking for Answers? An ADHD Assessment Can Provide Clarity.

After spending years wondering why certain things have always felt more difficult, many adults reach a point where they simply want to know:

"Is this ADHD?"

A comprehensive ADHD assessment can help answer that question.

Together, we'll explore your history, current experiences, strengths, and challenges to determine whether ADHD best explains what you've been experiencing—or whether another explanation may better fit.

Whether ADHD becomes part of your story or not, the goal is the same: helping you better understand yourself and providing clear recommendations for what comes next.

You may benefit from an ADHD assessment if you:

  • Have wondered for years whether you might have ADHD
  • Recently recognized yourself in ADHD information
  • Have a child with ADHD and are beginning to recognize similar patterns in yourself
  • Struggle with focus, organization, follow-through, emotional regulation, or time management
  • Feel like you've worked harder than others but still can't seem to make certain strategies stick
  • Want greater clarity before pursuing treatment or accommodations
  • Are looking for answers—not assumptions

What We'll Explore Together

An ADHD assessment is much more than completing a checklist.

Together, we'll take time to understand your experiences, explore how ADHD may (or may not) fit your story, and determine the next steps that best support your goals.

During your assessment, we'll:

  • Explore your current concerns, strengths, and everyday experiences
  • Discuss your developmental, educational, and personal history
  • Complete standardized ADHD assessment measures
  • Evaluate how ADHD symptoms may be impacting work, relationships, emotional regulation, executive functioning, and daily life
  • Explore other factors that could better explain your symptoms
  • Learn what ADHD actually looks like in your unique brain—not just the common stereotypes

My goal isn't simply to determine whether you meet diagnostic criteria. It's to help you better understand yourself, understand how your brain works, and leave with greater clarity.

What You'll Receive

Following your assessment, we'll review your results together and discuss personalized recommendations for moving forward.

You'll receive:

  • Diagnostic clarification
  • A written summary of your assessment findings
  • Education about how ADHD shows up in your life
  • Personalized recommendations based on your goals
  • Practical next-step recommendations

If ADHD is identified and you're interested in exploring medication, I'll also provide a diagnostic summary letter that you can share with your primary care provider or psychiatric provider to support a medication evaluation.

Whether ADHD is identified or another explanation better fits, you'll leave with a better understanding of yourself and a clear direction for what comes next.

Is This the Right Type of Assessment?

My ADHD assessments are designed for many adults seeking diagnostic clarity around ADHD.

However, some situations are better served through a comprehensive psychological or neuropsychological evaluation.

I generally recommend pursuing a higher level of evaluation if you have:  A history of significant substance use or addiction A significant neurological condition A history of moderate to severe brain injury Complex medical, neurological, or cognitive concerns that require more extensive testing

These evaluations provide broader cognitive and psychological testing and help ensure you're receiving the most appropriate assessment for your unique situation.

If you're unsure whether my ADHD assessment or a comprehensive psychological or neuropsychological evaluation would be the better fit, I'm happy to help you determine the right next step before scheduling.

Insurance & Payment

Many health insurance plans cover ADHD assessments when they are considered medically necessary and when benefits include mental health diagnostic services.

I am in-network with many insurance plans, and ADHD assessments are often covered by insurance. However, every insurance plan is different.

Before scheduling your assessment, I recommend contacting your insurance company to verify your mental health benefits and ask about coverage for an ADHD diagnostic evaluation. This can help you better understand your expected out-of-pocket costs, including any deductible, copay, or coinsurance that may apply.
